Special Interest Groups

A Special Interest Group (SIG) consists of Chapter professionals who share a common discipline, industry, environment, or interest. SIGs provide opportunities to exchange information and advice pertaining to your area of practice, as well as career-specific networking opportunities. SIGs also provide you with the opportunities to assume an active leadership role. Participation in a SIG connects you with people who share your interests, challenges, and goals.

  • Career Transitions - The Career Transitions Special Interest Group (SIG) provides a forum for members who are in the midst of a job search, or who are contemplating a job change. Programs and meetings provide information on career planning and job search tools, sharing job leads, building a professional network, and mutual support. Members of this SIG are also invited to participate in an online discussion group.

  • Community Service - Coming Soon in 2008!

  • Consultants' Forum - The purpose of this SIG is to provide professional development and "best practices" information for consultants who want to enhance their consulting skills and build an independent consulting practice. The group will serve as a collaborative resource for individuals interested in the many facets of being an independent professional that are separate and distinct from their core business competency.

  • E-Learning - Vision: e-Learning SIG is a forum for exploration, sharing and collaboration for those interested in e-Learning and related areas such as distance learning, instructional design and information technology. This forum will address both the conceptual and the hands-on, will be in- person or on-line, but above all, inclusive and insightful.

  • Healthcare SIG - Coming soon in 2008!

  • Organizational Development - The OD SIG focuses on the art and science of Organizational Development with emphasis on practical application in organizations. Whether you are an internal or external T&D professional and regardless of your OD background, we welcome you to join in sharing your experiences with organizational problems and how they are resolved. We will discuss both common and uncommon challenges within companies, when and how to use OD and the many ways it can be blended with training.

  • Professional Publishing SIG - A SIG devoted to the never ending pursuit of publishers by authors, including tips and techniques on how to snare one. If you're trying to get published, visit our SIG!

  • Trainer's Edge SIG - The Active Practitioners SIG focuses on the professional development of internal and independent training consultants. Our programs are centered on professional development, sharing best practices, peer networking and mutual professional support.
